A plea bargain occurs when a defendant (the person accused of corruption) agrees to admit they are guilty of a criminal offense, rather than making the prosecutor prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. In return for the defendant admitting guilty, the prosecution makes some concessions to the defendant, such as agreeing that the defendant will submit a certain amount of money as a fine to the state or charging the defendant with a less serious offense. This concession will result in either a very reduced punishment, or no punishment at all

The Asia Cup is scheduled to take place in Pakistan in September 2023. Owing to the venue, the Indian Cricket Board announced that India would not be part of the Asia Cup if the venue was not changed from Pakistan to another country, citing security concerns for players in Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board responded by threatening to boycott the world cup if they were not allowed to stage the Asia Cup in Pakistan. Recently, there has been an agreement over a hybrid model of the Asia cup which will be hosted by both Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with the majority of matches taking place in Sri Lanka. Although the Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet announced an official verdict, boycotting the world cup is under consideration.
